wont crank

I have a 98 f150 with 4.6 motor
will not start, when turning the key all lights, buzzers and chimes work but wont crank.
I have replaced neutral safety switch, ignition, solenoid(on fire wall) and replaced the battery also had starter checked out.
truck will start when jumped from solenoid but battery light comes on and after awhile the battery dies depleting it totally. I have a short apparently between the ignition and solenoid? checked voltage on the wire from ignition to solenoid and have 0.
any help would really be appreciated.

thank you cjojr64.

Have your alternator tested. If your battery is being depleted, it is highly possible the alternator is shot.

You probably also need a new battery...

Well, as my daughter used to say in her younger days, "DUH!"
