Question Shudder at highway speed

This isn't about an f-150, but this forum is filled with some of the most generally knowledgeable people I've found, so...

My other (wife's) vehicle is a 95 Windstar (I know, I know). It has recently developed a pretty good shake at highway speeds that only lasts a few seconds, and seems to occur when the A/C cycles on (or off; can't tell which). Then it runs smoothly again for awhile. Does this sound like a simple case of spark plugs finally wearing out (60k miles), or could something else be the culprit?

Thanks for indulging my slightly-off topic question.

hot42,

Pull the wires to the A/C clutch and go for a test drive. BTW does the A/C work? If it still shudders then it is not A/C related.

I can just turn the A/C to "off" or "vent" and the shudder goes away. I turn it back on, and it comes back for a few seconds every so often, and only at high speeds. It's like I'm running over a piece of really rough road. The A/C actually works fine.

Thanks.
