The smell you had from your clutch is the smell of death. The first gear on the POS Mazda tranny is too high, so to get going you have to slip the clutch. In the end my 97 Clutch would smell when I would try to back up the sand dunes.

Center force can not use the centrefugal weights to increase holding power because of space limitations in the M5OD bellhowsing. I wish Ford would put the SD 5 speed in the F-150s. Of coarse I would end up changing U-Joints instead of clutches. Still cheaper in the long run..
