Possible injector problem?

I just installed an AFE stage II CAI on my 2004 f150 fx4 Saturday, when driving normally everything seams to be just as it was before. When i get on the accelerator hard, my engine light will come on and i check it with my scanner and it is saying bank 1 fuel too lean and bank 2 fuel too lean. So i am assuming, i need some bigger injectors to get the full effect. Note i had no issues with the system running lean before the AFE install. So my question is what injectors should i run with my system? Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

here is one of many threads on this subject. I think you need a custom tune.

I have a Superchips flashpaq (I know not the best), so what should I buy? and how do i go about getting it custom tuned? I know a guy in Martinsville that does tuning but not sure if he will know what i need or not.

Remove the intake till you can get a custom tune. Injectors will not fix the problem.

Better yet, return the intake and do a Gotts mod to the stock intake. No tune required.

You need to get that intake off. It does little for performance and is causing you to run too lean. The stock intake is more than adequate. Just do the Gotts mod and you pick up almost the same gain as your aftermarket intake. The canned tunes on your Superchip are written for a stock intake.

Why do people continually keep screwing up their trucks by spending money on what
is actually a hot air intake?

My trucks not screwed it, i had some leftover money and i figured I'd go buy one.. but that appears to have been a bad idea, my trucks running fine. Ill take it off and do the Gotts Mod when i have time over the weekend. Until then i only put 10 miles on the truck each day, as long as i stay out of it it will be fine.

IF you wanted to keep that intake and retain a tuner, you may want to conside an SCT Xcal3 Model 3000 - http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index...=226&parent=66

Yer current canned device cannot ever be custom-tuned. Sell it in the Cassifieds, etc, and reinvest as described.

Nice bump in performance, terrific transmission control, device has a future, is mod-friendly, and will render that intake safe so you can retain it as well.

Good luck!

Contact one of the SCT tuners recommended in the Programmers forum for custom tunes.

I took the AFE intake off this evening, reinstalled my stock intake system with the gotts mod reconfiguration. I must say i can tell a lot more power from the gotts mod, also my engine is running smoother! Thanks for everyone's help!
