service engine soon light

Here's the senario: I took the truck to the drags put in 104 octane boost 3 days later service engine soon light comes on. The truck still runs fine. I took off Batt cable reset computer. Everything is fine. I went to the drags again a week later put in octane boost 3 days later, again the service engine soon light comes on. I reset the computer. I drove the truck another week( no octane boost) the light comes on again. I took it to the place where I had the blower installed. They put the scanner on it and it said insufficent EGR flow. They reset the computer with the scanner. 2.5 weeks later the light comes on again.( still no octane boost) This is getting to be a pain in the a$$. Does anyone have any suggestions? Could the octane boost have gummed up my O2 sensors? Maybe a EGR leak. The truck really runs well. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My initial thought as I was reading your post was the o2 sensor and the octane boost. Since the code was for the EGR flow, maybe it could be a leak somewhere?

Sounds like you have a tad bit more then "stock" under the hood

Is the code for the same thing each time it comes on?

Mitchf150, Thanks for the reply. I only had the scanner on once. But I willing to bet it's for the same thing. I talked to the bell tech and he said it might be the EGR valve. I'm not going to clear the error code and have it scanned again. If its the same error I think I'll just replace the EGR valve. No, it's not stock. check sig
