engine part-out

My 99 5.4 recently locked up so I'm buying a 00 motor with only 51k on it. The salvage yard is only charging 150 for my core. Should I just keep it and sell the heads cams intake etc

You could try. The most valuable on the 99 is the intake manifold. It's the only aluminum PI manifold made for 97-03 and won't crack like the 2000's will and have many times.

Yeah, keep your intake manifold. If I had to do it again I would keep my old motor and build it. But I sold mine with bad tensioners and bearings for $300 with 125k on it. Sold the first day I posted it for sale.

I'll give you $20 for the intake manifold
