fuel injector question

If a fuel injector is 'stuck open' would it pass a flow test?

The shop where I work part time at has a protocol in place for injectors......

1. Before anything else they are cleaned and visually inspected
2. Each injector is then tested for leakage
3. Coil resistance is then checked along with opening and closing of the injector
4. All that pass the first three steps are then flow tested

So to answer your question a stuck injector should be found before the flow test....

But that's at this shop.....other shops may have their own proceedures....

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I asked this because I recently took my 05 150 into Ford Service Specifically for a diagnostic of injectors 5 & 6 this is what they say they did:

"Customer states check engine light on. Check 5 & 6 injector verify CEL on checked and found codes p0300, p0305, p0306 and p0316. Checked mode 6 data found misdata on 3 cylinders; 2,5,6. Checked injector flow found all injectors even flow.

Vehicle needs 2 coils, plugs and boots. Customer declined repairs owner will repair."

And I'm right back where I started with P0305 and CEL.

Is this happening since you changed your plugs?

If so go through and check connections to the cops and injectors....

Did you use dielectric grease on the boots?

You can check for a leaking injector by pulling them, placing a rag under the rail and turning the key on. If you suspect on is sticking open, better not delay getting it checked out as it will hydrolock the engine.

I can tell you for certain that they did not pull the rail when they checked my injectors. There is still an even coat of dust/dirt on the rail. unless they removed it by using some mind power.

another ?: how hard is it to pull up the fuel rail? I have the bolts off and nothing budging. I also have the zip ties on already and they aren't on anything else.

Should I de pressurize before doing this?
