oil in air filter box
I own a 2000 lightning that has oil in the breather svt says I am the only one with this problem and have been blowing me off so I need to know how many with this problem .local dealer has tried everything ford said to do and it still does it . I have talked to a eng from ford that was at a local mustang show and his answer was buy a 2001 .
Try this in the Lightning forum. I've read several posts about oil in that general area. I think that there are at least two different fixes on this board alone. One is to change the regular oil plug in the valve cover with one of the vented ones, there may be additional changes necessary because it would allow air in that the computer wouldn't be able to account for. Anyway I think the L guys know more about these trucks than Ford does, I'm sure they can help.
oil in air box
why are all the guys that own fords trying to fix this problem heck nowonder ford don't want to .everyone needs to tell ford about it instead of trying to fix it ford says they aren't that many ford trucks with the problem .and it sounds like it is a problem.
You'll end up finding that if you depend on your Ford dealer for everything, or Ford for that matter, that you often end up beating your head against a brick wall. Thats the point of a site like this - to share common experiences and to fix problems that your Ford dealer blows off. At the very least, it gives you the ammo to tell them they are wrong!
