5.4 litre troubles

Hi I am new here nice to see others with similar problems. I have an 05 supercrew 5.4 litre with 109k and recently took to dealer for recall and had them tune up and check hesitation in transmission and heat blowing luke warm. Couple days after I got truck back it was very hard starting and blowing white smoke took it right to dealer and they found stuck open injector. They replaced that and the cat converter under extended warranty and changed oil. Ever since then I noticed a tapping passenger side of engine so I changed oil again but noise did not go away. Tonight on my way home the tapping turned into rapping and dropped a cylinder had it towed to my mechanic . I think I threw a rod. Will find out Tomorrow. Anyone know if this could have been caused by stuck injector three weeks later?

What does "dropped a cylinder" mean. Something fell into the cylinder ?

Yes - hydrolock.

Sounds to me as if there was a bent rod from the hydrolock caused by the leaking injector. They failed to catch it.

The other possibility is that a second injector started leaking which caused a new hydrolock situation, but my suspicion is the above .

That's why I put the "disclaimer" Brew. You're included in that. Cheer up- go back to driving the Welcome Wagon, it's a whole lot more fun than that hearse!
