Seafoamed the 00 5.4, quite uneventful.

So here I was expecting a big smoke show. Put the seafoam in the gas tank and also in through the brake booster. Let er sit for 5 mins, fired her up and I think I might have got some smoke for about 5-10 mins and wasn't enough to make a cloud. Nothing like what I seen on youtube clips...

Guess the insides were pretty clean then???

Geezzzz, two in the same day. Yea, don't do that to your engine.

Get a Motor Vac Service.

It shouldn't be bad for it, it's right on the can to do it and from some reading I did others do it that too. I changed my fuel filter too while I was pickin at her.

I didn't put any in the crank though, I'll wait till shortly before oil change time to do that one.

Got the phone camera at the ready, huge let down lol.

Around 100 bucks probably. There's a cheaper service, the BG service. Not as effective, but effective just the same.

Yea that Seafoam will plug your 02 louvers where gases need to enter and spin around the sensor.

Plug up the cat cones/chambers until they start to burn up. I have seen that crap deform a perfect circle thru the converter. This melts the cone shut leaving very little room for flow around it.

Chunks lift off and may trap in your rings and valve seats.

That stuff doesn't completely burn off deposits, more so, -transports them thru your engine in search of another home.

There's also the chance of Hydo locking the motor. That can cost you one.

Well, hell! If it says right on the can that you can do it, by all means...go for it! Do you think the marketing team (really all that company is) would actually tell you the truth about their 'product'?

Of course it's gonna say it cures all your vehicle's ailments and The Plague, psoriasis, tetter, chlamydia, male pattern baldness, Legionnaire's, and stupidity. They want to sell merchandise!

Lying about one's product...oldest sales trick in the book...

Whatever it is, pay it. As jbrew said, probably around $100. It is well worth the money.

Just say no, kiddo, and steer clear of that koolaid.

Wow, didn't know there was such a commitee against it here. The good threads read abroad far out weighed the bad ones that I read.

DewserB: What I was getting at was, there was nothing indicating to put it in at separate times. Everything else I read in threads also did it all at the one time.

I wouldn't really consider this a snake oil compared to say, Motor Up or ZMax type stuff.
