need opinion on purchasing a 2000 leftover

I realize this may be the incorrect forum but need some feed back.
I am looking at a 2000 xlt 4x4 SC, 5.4, auto, 3:55 LS, non Off road. Yes it is a 2000 with 37 miles on it. MSRP is 29780 and they say the bottom line is $26000. Since it is a 2000, I can't find the invoice info, trying to estimate off a 2001. Since the truck is technically almost two years old, can I get more off? This is my first new vehicle purchase. If the truck has sat for almost 12 months, they must be ready to move it. I have no idea why it wouldn't have sold, nicely equipped with red and silver paint.

Retail for a "used" 2000 with 37 miles is 24,000 to 24700 according to NADA/Kelley blue book. I would like to try and get it for $25000 (assuming depreciation on a "used vehicle"). Trying to come up with numbers that I can through back into the negotiating process.

The truck had everything that I was looking for, asked to drive it, and then realized it was a 2000. They didn't direct me to this truck because it was a 2000.

y2kmxz,
If I was you I would be looking at a 2001. You should be able to get it cheaper than that with current rebates and if you go to the Lightning board you can read a post on how to sign up for the xplan. These together should probably get you around $6000 below sticker on a 2001. Just my .02.
