2001 engine tune in a 1999 necessary or not?

So I put a newer (2001) engine in my 1999.

4.6 romeo. Obviously the new engine is a PI engine; whereas the stocky was non pi.

I just used the ignition from the 99 on the 01 as suggested on here multiple times and it is now running great. Smooth idle, holds highway speeds, nice and quiet.

Now, another thing I had read on here is that I should get a newer flash for my computer so that it operates the PI engine "better"

I talked to the Ford service guy and he seemed iffy about it.

Would i notice improvements by getting the newer tune to match the engine? I value the opinions on here moreso than a service manager so would be interested to hear thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

If it's running excellent leave it alone.
