Laptop - computer???

hmmm.,
I have heard of ppl hooking a laptop to there computer and makeing the truck faster... well i have a laptop i just got and HOW DO I DO IT??? if it can be done?... is there any info on sites or anything please help!

You can't just hook it to your existing and reprogram. You can realtime monitor the OBDII info as you drive with some utilities out there. Great trouble shooting tool. The guys who can make the cars go faster have aftermarket ECU's that can be programmed. They can change their ignition and fuel maps in small increments. Don't know about the domestics but I do see the ricers do this often. You got to be a pretty smart tunning dude though or you'll blow the motor. So many factors to account for. I've seen though that for instance, a Miata with a supercharger on it optimized on the factory ecu will crank maybe 160rwhp. With a tek II and some tuning, at the same PSI, they can get maybe another 40+ hp out of it. That's impresive.

there is a program available that includes the OBDII connector. appears to be almost as good as the dealers rig (monitor O2 sensors-tps-maf-ect) it cost around $300. I think I saw it searching OBDII.
