351 windsor broken exhaust bolts...
dad an i have been working on an f-250 with the 351 in it and we are replacing the standard manifolds with headers, (yes there is a reason behind doing this) and we had broke 3 bolts off while pulling one side, and we are going to try welding a nut onto the studs of the broken bolts, will this work with the heat running down the bolt, or will we need to drill the darn things out... we will need to use the bolt puller on one that broke flush with the head. also the headers which are Flowtech longtubes do not have egr ports, how would one go about either pulling egr, or fabbing a system to fix this problem...
ok, we were gonna try that firs, but i didnt know if there were any better ways, we have sprayed it with PB blaster and got the other 6 out fine. now to find a way to fab up an EGR system or delete...
well the headers are mounted, we got 1 of the 3 bolts out trouble free, but the other 2 needed to be drilled out... dad cussed and carried on a lot
we need to find a spacer to mount the dipstick tube, and put 1 more bolt in. other than that the EGR system will be the only major trouble.
