5.4l dead at 3500 miles

Yep , truck wouldnt start this morning. Had to help my dad push it into the street to be towed. They thought it was the alarm because it did this before, but they removed it and still wont start. Its being towed to the dealer as we speak. It just turns over, thats all.

Its been a goofy alarm at best. It was installed free by a friend, but it had constant problems. It stalled in the car wash before too.

Ill keep everyone updated.

It could be something electrical with with all the sensors and computer that control stuff for the engine and maybe when the alarm was installed they shorted something and now something big got fried so it won't start.

Isn't there a Superchip installed on it? I think I remember the situation with it,but you kept it and put it in anyway? Anyway,if they're not taped to the computer and pop loose, the symptoms can be the same. Just a thought,,,,,98

If only all you had to ever do was to pull and replace the battery cable everytime one of our trucks failed to start... I'd install a switch!

Good to see ya posting, Fast.

Good luck to both of you,at least it's still covered by warranty. I know it bites to be without the truck,though,,,,98

Cool

Sounds like the electrical engineers at Ford are trying out Windows 98 for their firmware...

Cool

Sounds like the same thing that happened to my HD150. The pats system would not respond to the key. The motor would crank but no fire. The little "theft" would stay flashing while the motor was cranking. Had to have the truck on the hook three time before the problem was found. When the box in the dash was replaced the problem disappeared. good luck.
