2007 5.4L 3V broken Timming chain

2007 5.4L 3V broken Timming chain

my F150 just went over the milage warranty and the left bank timing chain broke. The dealership says they are trying to get a good will warranty repair for the rebuild. Has anyone else had this problem. i service my truck regularly.

How many Miles or Kilometers? I have a 2007 with 190000 km. What is the recomended replacement intervals?

That is extremely rare for a timing chain to break. They stretch over time, but rarely break. If you were at 200,000 miles or more, I could see it as possible, but still unlikely.

Hopefully Ford will help with the bill.

I would think something locked up causing it to break,like maybe the cam bearings seizing up. Very rare for those chains to break.

104000 kms and i service it regularly. problably something to do with the cam phaser problems there known for

Hope they make good on the warranty. I had one chain stretch with only 63k on the motor.
