Possesed Cruise COntrol????
Hey Fellas,
Didnt know where to put this one at:
Going down the Road today pulling a U-Haul trailer when I come up on a hill. Had it in 4th Gear, cruise control doing about 60 mph. Started slowing down, and when I got to 50, I decieded to let 3rd gear pull me up the hill. Not thinking about cancelling cruise, I pushed the clutch in, figuring there was a cancelling device just like the brake has. Well I was wrong because when I pushed the clutch in, VROOOOOOMMM!!! The motor SCREAMS for mercy! Thinking quickly I tap the brake and the motor comes down.....Shouldnt the clutch bring it down too?? OR am I crazy?
No, dont answer the last question...hehe...
Well Thanks in advance Again!
Wes

K&N Filter, that I think makes a heck of a difference on this motor.
And NOW, a DynoMax Exhaust with 2 1/4" pipes and 3.5" Echo's...looks good...ask about the sound
Future Mods: Color keyed/Chrome Mirrors and the door handles

Yes there should be a cancellation switch in the clutch. Yours may need to be adjusted or maybe you only lightly depressed the clutch (not far enough to activate the switch). I would get it checked at the dealer.
And if you think you are crazy....get that checked too!

My '94 Splash didn't drop out of cruise if you clutched it. What yours should have done is drop out of cruise when you dropped those 10 MPH, read your manual...it tells you in there.

My book says: Do not shift the transmission into N neutral with the speed control on.
I must say I've never paid much attention to the engine in situations where I needed to downshift quickly out of cruise control. Usually I have enough time to tap the brake. I would try not to use cruise if the road is hilly and I was pulling a load.
