95 4wd 5.0, stroke to 347 or start with a 5.8
Hello, I'm wanting to increase the power on our 95 f-150 4wd flareside. Like the title states, it's a 5.0 with a five speed and although it runs just fine, I'd like to increase the power quite a bit.
Many economically priced reciprocating assemblies can be had for the 5.0, like the 331, or 347, but is it foolish to not just start with a 5.8 and possibly stroke it up? It's also important that the vehicle remains fuel injected, I know moving to a carbureted 5.8 would eliminate alot of hassle, but it's not an option and that's why I'm thinking about just stroking the factory 5.0 and retaining the a/c and everything else. What's your opinion on this.
I know that there are an abundance of 5.0 aftermarket heads, cams, and intakes, thanks to the all too popular fox bodied Mustang, and I believe with the right combination of parts, a person can probably make a fairly torquey little stroker if they didn't "over-do it" on the Heads, cam, or intake.
Also who do I talk to about the tuning of this obd-1 computer controlled vehicle? I have alot of experience with tuning on the OBD2 vehicles, but that doesn't help me much with this vehicle
