Hi,
Anyone know what the noise is in the sound clip? I hear it when the truck is running or for a bit after I turn it off. I am thinking maybe it is the exhaust from being hot, not sure. It's like loud metal pinging noises.

Exhaust system heat shield or the cat cooling down....muffler might make that sound as well.

 

Cat's cooling down. In most cases it is normal, which yours sounds like. If it was excessive, I would inspect the cats to make sure theyre not plugged and glowing red. But there are other running conditions that would indicate that. So I would consider it normal.

 

Just sounds like the metal in the exhausts/shield is cooling off. I hear it on all my vehicles.

 

Sounds normal......just the exhaust and related components cooling down....
