2005 5.4 misfires on 3 cylinders only at wot

i have a 2005 f150 with a 5.4, startin a couple weeks ago it started misfiring, throws codes out all the time at wot. the first time it did it i got a cyl 1 and 7 misfire, second time was cyl 3 and 7, next was cyl 1 and syestem too lean bank 1, and at one point there was a random misfire detected and sometimes on startup... i thought maybe coils but i thought when a coil went it just up and stopped working not works whenever.. also it misfires under load ie. driving along torque converter locked in 4th and come to a hill with out accelerating bang bang shake shake...... misfires then too.

Basic questions first

Start by answering some basic questions.
1) Number of miles on the motor, plugs and fuel filter.
2) If the plugs were changed, what brand?
3) Have you had the injectors looked at by the Dealer for the issues of stuck injectors on 2005's?

The problem is most likely the COP's. The type of COP used by Ford is well known for having problems with low grade misfires under load but not failing completely.

It could also be old or damaged plugs. The 5.7L 3V is very fickle on the type of plug used. (be safe and only use the MC brand).

Have you replaced the Fuel Pump Driver Module yet? Not likely the problem based on your symptoms but it will need replacing sometime.

1. about 160000 km on the truck, plugs changed 60000 ago??? roughly, and fuel filter was changed shortly after
2.plugs are autolite... thats what my mechanic put in.... ive already had one replace by for because the porcelin was cracked and not firing right
3.i have not had it looked at by the dealer yet

whats a fuel pump driver module? where is it? how easy is it to change? whats a rough cost?
