Changing 4.6 cop plugs

How many have done this without drama? What are your best tips or tricks for plug removal from a 2003 4.6 cop engine?

I do my own repairs but some of the posts give me pause. Really crazy as spark plugs were about as basic as it gets re: replacement, prior to cop engines.

Never done a 4.6 in a truck, done several 4.6's in CV/GM's with zero drama.

Bought a spare set of boots before the first one, they are still sitting in the basement.

Only must have is a means of blowing the crud out of the spark plug holes before yanking the plugs as in air compressor with a blow gun.

If the boots looked dried out/cracked pitch them and replace them, otherwise smear some fresh dielectric grease on them and put it back together.

You do need to use a torque wrench to put the plugs in, other than that not sure what the hang up would be.

5.4 is where the drama is...

The truck was just bought a few weeks back it has 83K on it and runs great. I got a lil concerned by reading all those broken plug threads. I have an air compressor and blow gun as well as calibrated torque wrenches.

Motor (4.6 in a 03 F150), I wanted to replace the plugs just as PM.

Plug breakage is a problem in the 04 to 08 3 valve engines which have a 2 piece
plug . The 97 to 03 have a standard plug. Just tighten to 28 ft. lbs. dry, no
anti-sieze.
