exhaust flame
After an hour of arguing with the service manager they replaced my #3 ignition coil for free but still refused to cover the cost of changing the #3 sparkplug. The truck has been running fine now for about a week and a half. On my way to lunch today I noticed it has another slight miss to it. Great and now snow is on the ground here. No CELs but I will try and see if I have any codes when I get home. This is such BS. My truck has been flawless up until this happened and its payed off so I was planning on keeping it. I'm not so sure after learning of this issue.
I found an exhaust leak coming from the factory clamp on the crossover pipe after the cat and had it welded together. I am still noticing what sounds like an exhaust leak but I am starting to think that it is something rattling inside one of the converters since they did have flames going thru them. I received another check engine light on the way to work this morning. I'll try and scan it when I get home tonight to pull the code. This is such a PITA!
Hooked up my scanner when i got home tonight and no dtcs but the service engine light is still staying on. It sounds like it has an exhaust leak at around 2.5k rpms in overdrive or else it is missing. I had my cutout replaced last week and now just running a straight pipe in the stock location. I would say the converter is on its way out if i had to guess. I think Im going to replace the rest of my coils first.
Yeah that is what I thought too. Since I did drive about 40 miles since the light came on is it possible the codes reset but the CEL is still on? This whole injector issue is such crap from FORD.
I ran the code again with a different scanner and I am now getting a p420 catalyst code. The dealer wont cover this because they say whatever is wrong with the truck when the injector sticks open has to be found when you bring it in for the injector problem.
