5.4 swap question

Hey guys,

I know there are lots of these questions on here, so I apologize in advance. I tried to search, but didn't find what I needed...

My dad has a 98 Navigator 5.4L 32v with a blown engine. He found a deal on a 5.4L 16v from an Expedition. Is this an easy swap? What type of problems should he look out for?

Basically, he needs to know if he should buy this engine or if he's better off continuing his search.

Thanks

The easiest is to find another navigation motor.....stepping down to a 16v might pose some issues...

#1 you need the complete expy engine, engine wiring harness and exhaust manifolds / mid pipes

#2 you need a custom tune to make it work right

#3 you need to use your current navi oil pan and oil pick up tube

#4 use the expy torque converter or do the smart thing and buy a better one than the crappy stocker

Thanks for the reply!

I talked to my Dad about it, and we agreed that swapping for the Expedition engine he found would probably result in too many headaches.

I really appreciate the advice.
