Turns over but no start

Went out to the truck today and started it. It started up for about half a second and shut down. After that, it would turn over, but not fire.

It almost seems like it is cranking a little faster than normal, but if it is, it is just barely noticeable. I checked fuse #30 and it looks good.I then checked every other fuse that was related to pcm or any other engine function and they all also look good. While I was crawling around on top of the engine, I saw something odd. There was a sweet and low packet right next to the #2 COP. I pulled it out of there and underneath it was a bunch of small egg shells, maybe about the size of humingbird eggs or smaller. This was not there last weekend.

Also notable, last weekend my #1 cop went out on me. I did a quick roadside replacement and was back up in going (I always carry a spare with me along with my laptop and an obdII connector). About 6 weeks ago, I lost the #2 cop. I replace it and a week later the same #2 cop went out again. I exchanged and replaced it.

I have also been noticing what sounds like a belt squeeling ( I am assuming that is what it is). It started a few months ago but in the last two weeks it has gotten pretty noisy. I was planning on replacing the belt this coming weekend.

One other thing. Two days ago when I went out for the morning start, it did the same thing as today. It fired up then died immediately. I tried to crank it again and nothing. I turned the key off, waited about 10 seconds and tried again and it fired up.

Any ideas on where to start on this. I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

Any dtc codes?

You may want to.....

Clean the iac
Clean the tb
Change the fuel filter
Clean the maf
Clean the dpfe
Check your fuel pressure at the fuel rail
Listen for the fuel pump to prime
Have someone beat on the bottom of the tank with a rubber mallet while you try to start it>>> fuel pump

sounds like you have more than one problem. for the starting issue: just a thought......don't know how many miles you have, but ya may wanna look underneath by the spare tire at the FPDM, to see if it is corroded. mine had a couple of hard and no start issues in the weeks before mine blew completely. all it takes to check this is a quick look. mine was literally broken in half.

I don't think the 97-03's were blessed with this module.....

Plugs

What are you running for plugs?
Brand, Mileage on the plugs?

Clean all the ground connections.

Check for Vac leak.

The first thing to check in these crank but no fire situation is the fuel system When you turn the key on can you hear the pump hum? if not the fuel pump is either not getting power or its bad, If you can hear the pump you need to get a fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure..

Truck is a 2002 F150 5.4 with around 190,000 miles. Plugs are Motorcraft and were replaced about 10,000 miles ago. I will have to wait till Friday to check anything but simple stuff. Battery is dead now from towing it home for an hour with hazards on. Seems kinda short to me, but it was cranking fine before.
The service engine light wasn't on so I am assuming no codes. I haven't had a chance to check it yet. With a dead battery I won't get any codes I don't think.

Thanks

Update: So this morning I went out to pull the battery. When I did, I heard something scurrying around by the air conditioning vents on the passenger side. I am thinking something got in there and maybe chewed up some wires and layed the eggs on the top of the engine. Also, I took the battery and put it in my grandparents Lincoln town car and it fired right up. The same battery an hour before barely had enough juice to unlock my doors.
