Another 05 5.4 Rough Idle with a mind of its own
Autolites is all everyone had around here. Called everywhere and had to use what I could for now. I did use high temp anti-sieze on the sleeves and I'm sure out of habit a dab on threads. Why? Never heard not to from anywhere else.
update...
Ok, drove the truck today and ran GREAT. No problems untill... i had driven another 20 miles from when it last acted up. I let it run rough until it coded.
Again random misfire, cyls 3 & 4 misfire & bank 1 over-retarded.
Took previous stated advice and swaped cyl 4 cop with cyl 2 and cyl 3 with cyl 1
Drove truck another 10 miles and it acted up again pulled codes
Cyl 3 misfire, bank 1 over-retarded, p0340 cam position sensor circuit a or single sensor
I'm going to swap cam sensors next
Also there was a thread "5.4 jumped timing" i think where. A member "twiggers" that had a problem with plugged cats that after certain distance 40 miles it would idle rough and throw codes.
