Have you used a stethoscope to pin point it? Also, take the belts off and run it, make sure it is not a tensioner bearing or the ac pump.

Agreed x2 ^^^ yikes, sounds terrible.

if not that... I'd be checking your spark plugs. maybe you have one that loose or nearly ejected. Hopefully not that

then it's probably down to bad exhaust manifold.

found the problem. Its not valvetrain like I though. Its a belt/pulley problem. The belt exploded and the power steering pump fell out on the way home today.
