Hesitation on first push of the pedal
Hesitation on first push of the pedal
Hello all.
I have owned Ford trucks all my life and after a brief (aka failed) experiment in a Mazda 3 I am back in a 2007 F150 Supercrew FX4 with the 5.4L engine. I have a strange problem that I can't seem to wrap my head around.
When my truck is cold, not temperature cold but been off for a few hours, I start the truck, put it in drive, hit the gas pedal and I get a hesitation where the engine can not seem to get past 1000RPMs. No matter how hard I press down on the pedal the state of the engine stays the same. The truck will move but it shudders like it is not getting enough air/fuel. No DTC light or anything.
All I have to do is let off the accelerator and push down on it again and everything is fine for the rest of the drive. I can pretty much reproduce this every morning.
Does anyone have any ideas? I was thinking maybe the TPS was not registering the initial throttle response, but that is just a guess.
I appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Kyle
