went to dealership for spark plug replacement...

called them before going in (was bringing in truck for another job).

asked them how much to replace my plugs. they told me 60 dollars. they did not carry bosch platinum plugs, but said they would put them in if i supplied them.

had them do the work and when i picked up the truck they charged me over 200 dollars just for replacing the plugs.

when i asked why they said the job spec'd out at 3 hours, but they only charged me 2 and 1/2.

i told them i was told 60, (which to my suprise they honored).

i am curious as to what others may have paid a dealership to replace the plugs on the 4.6 (with a/c)

from reading posts here on plug replacement 60 bucks sounded like it was worth the money.

thanks to any who reply.

$200 to $250 is what I've been quoted before form Ford for Plug Replacement. A couple other reputable mechanics have quoted me much less. They said it used to take them a long time to change plugs in the trucks then they started to figure out the best method

Cool

I had my plugs, wires, fuel filter, and a new air filter (we'll stay away from K&N arguements here) all done for $245 - parts, labor, and taxes included. While I have heard a lot of $200-250 quotes for plug replacement, they can be done for less. I had my truck serviced at a light and medium duty Ford Truck dealer, where they know an awful lot about maintaining these engines!

$60? You got a steal!! Good job. It's nice to hear a customer stick it to a dealer once and a while
