Unhappy engine stall

My 87 Ford F-150, 302 truck was stalling out, after spitting and sputtering for miles, then it would not start at all. I replaced the fuel filter, PCV valve, ignition module, rotor button. It would still not start. Then I took it to the local Ford dealer, and he tells me I am getting plenty of spark and that it is the in-tank and frame mounted fuel pumps. Could the fact that 2 of the 3 pumps could go out at the same time? I am open for opinions.
