Question for poweraid owners or throttle body spacers
Hi StevensBlack4x4,
Well, when I added my Poweraid spacer, I had installed the K&N Generation II intake system, a Pro-M 80mm MAF, and a 75mm BBK TB.
What I experienced and learned is this, the 4.6 doesn't breath as well as the '99 and up 5.4's with the P.I. heads. With all of the additional volume of air that I was pullling into my 4.6, it was leaning out and bogging down the engine. When the Poweraid spacer was installed, after the other mods, it significantly improved my performance and power. This spacer increased the velocity of increased air volume throught the design as advertised.
I also tried the spacer without the 75mm TB and putting the stock TB on with the other mods and it ran like crap! I tend to agree with others on the board that have tried this spacer with a stock setup and it doesn't improve power or performance. On the other hand, make modifications like I have and its the only way or the optimun way that my 4.6 will produce more hp.
Something that I have left out of the equation here, my custom Superchip helped significantly in enhancing the performance of my 4.6 with all of my modifications. The stock ECU just could not compensate enough for the mods I had made for optimum power and performance.
