Oil Additives-Old School
In the 60's there was a need for stuff like STP and bardahl. Engines worn out by 50,000- gas diluting the oil, leaded gas and no PCV valve to keep moisture, acid purged from the oil.
In the 70's GM EOS worked fine to quite the loose #1 main that many chevy small blocks suffered.
Its been 40 years since oil additives had a time and place.
The only additive that might be considered is ZDDP for flat tappet cams and non roller tip rocker arms.
Oil additives are nothing by hype from marketting aholes that don't know the truth from the lies they tell.
Your vehicle you can use anything you want

I agree with the comments against using oil additives with modern- day oils.
With an overhead cam in cold weather, I'd stay away from anything to thicken the oil.
I've read of a story of 10/30 causing topside damage in Triton in very cold weather conditions.
I'd stay away from it in any overhead cam. My 2 cents.
On Motorcraft Oil:
I saw an oil analysis report( Blackstone) posted up on another board, showing Motor Craft 5/20 (semi) showing less" iron" in the sample than the Amsoil Synthetics.
Oils today need nothing.
Maybe a clean for the engine under 'circumstances'... I like that cleaner idea posted, may give it a try.

Don't use anything. My motor only has about 4000 miles on it.
