Problems with my 97 f150

Hey guys new around here, i just bought a 1997 f150 with 5.4 today and my luck as soon as i get it home, i shut it off and then 15 mins later went to start i and nothing.... its turning over but wont start, so this is the deal with it.
1). this was happening before, guy put in a new solenoid, i think thats what there called, on the 97s there are 8 of them that sit on top of the manifold right next to each injector, so he replaced one of those.
2). thought it was fuel filter or computer but this seemed to work
3). so its doing the same thing AGAIN, could another on of these have gone already? i assume so or what else do you think it could be? im mechanically incline but i have to get used to this truck and this motor, i used to have a straight 6 and that thing was a breeze to work on. ok well let me know if anymore has any suggestions thanks

1. Those are not solenoids, they are ignition coils (coil on plug = COP).

When you turn the key on, but before turning it to START, can you hear the fuel pump run for a couple seconds? There's a Schrader valve on the fuel rail, if you hit it you should have fuel spraying out.

They won't start if the battery is to low. Whether it cranks or not. Check it for 12 volts stationary. I think they need at least 11.6 or 11.8 to fire up.

Coils most likely have noting to do with it. They will start and run with 4 bad coils.

You may want to change the fuel filter on general principle unless you know for a fact it's been changed in the last 30k miles.
