2004 5.4 ethanol conversion kit
They're are some out there......is it worth it? Not really in a truck....the savings at the pump are burned up in mpg loss that's usually 20-30% less.....
e85 = 108 octane
To convert it you'll need to take everything out of the fuel system that is steel and replace it or it'll go to rust. You'll then have to reflash the PCM with the flex fuel trims. The cost will be about $3,000 and hardly worth it. You might check your owners manual as some of the late produced trucks came equipped to handle the alcohol. Mine was made in March of 2004 and it's flex ready but carrys no flex fuel emblems.

If you have natural gas in your area they do make kits for that conversion and that MIGHT pay off in the end. I imagine you could research what parts are different on Eflex fueled trucks and put it together that way..
No kits
I don't know of any kits available.
Labnerd has it correct. The problem with E85 is that it carries moisture that will rust any and all metal in the complete fuel delivery system that is not coated or stainless steel. The rust particles will then plug the fuel filter and contaminate the downstream side. The E85 ready vehicles have upgraded fuel systems components. IF you are dead set to do this mod then contact your local dealer to review what parts in the fuel system need to be swapped and re-flash the PCM. A lot of time and money for lower gas mileage.
