Talking What is your best kill?

Hey guys... Flea here
Thought I'd do a little poll:

State what kind of engine you have, plus any mods

State what body style and 2/4wd

State transmission type

Tell us your story!

Mine involves a stock Civic. I was pulling a 3000# trailer on I-81 headed toward Bristol, TN. I was cruising at about 65 because I had the trailer and I didn't want to speed up unless I had to. This guy in a green Civic came up behind me like a bat out of hell. The passing lane was clear, but he decides to tailgate me. All of a sudden, he whips around me and flies past. He then proceeds to cut me off. By now, I'm more pissed than my g/f when it's that time, and I pull into the passing lane and floor it. I go flying past him at about 100, and he tries to keep up. Granted, a modified Honda probably could have kept up, but this stock (rice rocket) with an auto (saw inside) couldn't catch this bad-a$$ truck!

C'mon and brag about your best race and who you beat!!!

Alright, I am going to put this out there and I am probably going to get flamed for this, heck, I would flame me too if I wasn't there to witness it for myself, so please take it easy on me. I have a 98 XLT 4.2 manual with long bed and about a 150-200 lb. shell on the back. I have no engine modifications done, YET. All mods so far have been appearance only.

One day after work, I was driving home. I have about an hour drive one way and I was in that "Auto-pilot" mode where you are paying enough attention to keep from hitting the guy in front of you but your mind is elsewhere. I stop at a stop light (the next stop light is a couple of miles) and out of the corner of my eye I see a big black dodge V10 4x4 pull up next to me and he is looking my truck up and down. I catch his eye and gives me the nod and revs his engine. I didn't show any outward sign of acknowledging him but just return my eyes to the road. Light turns green and we both nail it. Neither squeals the tires much and take off like bats out of hell. Through first gear, he has me by 3/4 truck length. I shift to second and when I hit my mid range I really start to catch up. Shift to third and we are almost even. I run third gear all the way up to about 65 mph I really pull away in my top RPM range and I notice he isn't with me anymore. He either shut down due to speed limit or was pissed cause he was getting beat. I will never know because by the time he caught up to me through normal speed, I was turning off the road.

Now this was my first "Real" race cause I normally don't condone street racing but I just had one of those days and this guy looked like a real pr!ck. I was willing to get beat and fully expected to.

I don't know if this was truely a real race or not but I was a little impressed with my 4.2. I don't know anything about his truck. Heck it could even have been a V6 with just a V10 badge on it (cause it sure didn't sound like a V10). You may believe this or not. It makes no difference to me.

I have a 98 4.6 Styleside ext. cab F-150,with the 4x2 ON-ROAD pkg.. Trans is 4R70W,and the mods include(at least then) Superchip,true duals out the back with 24" glasspacks,and a K&N fipk.

This was the one that was the most fun anyway. I was coming back from dropping my fiance` at work in Birmingham AL. This black(current body style)
Prelude came up behind me and was doing the same thing. If I can't see the headlights past the bed cover, their tailgating She comes up beside me and matches my speed(yes it was girl, maybe mid 20's) until we get to the next light(red) Now I truly doubt that this was a Vtec, although I might have done well anyway, lol. The light turned green, and her front wheels began squealing,so I floored the truck. I pulled away quickly, and she even chirped the tires shifting to second. She never had a chance,LOL....She'll think twice before she tries that with another F-150,,,,,98

1997 Lariat Extended Cab 4x4 Flareside with Automatic 4.6, and my dad goes out and (God only knows why) gets a 2001 Chevy Silverado, Pewter color with the charcoal interior, and it's Extended Cab 4x4 with the smaller V8 automatic (fairly comparable), and I have K&N 'homemade' FIPK and nothing else (nothing else mechanical). He bragged and bragged, and he always used to borrow my truck to pull his boat when he had to fish, and he bragged and I never heard the end of it. Well, it finally happened, I was going to visit him and I pulled along side him on the road about 4 miles from his house, and rolled along side him at the light. I didn't even have to look at him, I knew what was going on, and as soon as the light turned green, I hit it and he hit it and we were dead even, for like a millisecond, and then I pulled two truck lengths on him before mine shofted to third, and I had him by four when I hit 100 mph and I backed off. I also got the good parking place at his house, my reward for beating him to it! That was the sweetest victory ever for me, no other kill for me can compare, but I will jump on any car, any time, me knowing that most of them can hand me my hind end.
Flea, I am almost 45 minutes from Johnson City, I club there almost every weekend, and my Dad lives in Rogersville. Cool for someone to be so close.

2 stories actually, I have 1992 F-150, inline 6 engine, auto tranny and a few mods, see sig. I pull up at a stop light next to an old blazer. Were both lifted about the same height and had about the same size tires. At first we kept turning up our stereos trying to drown out the others persons music. The light light turned green we both hit and i actually chirped my super swampers! We were about dead even for 2 blocks until the next light up ahead turned red. I stopped for the light but the jerk in the chevy ran right through it, luckily there were no cars coming. I don't consider that one a win or a loss.

The next one really isn't a race. I was coming home from work and some ldiot in a Dodge Dakota R/T cut me off, missing my front bumper by inches. I thought maybe he didn't like the fact that my Ford looked better than his Dodge so i screamed a few choice words and kept driving. But as i look up the road i can see this guys cutting in and out of traffic almost causing 5 accidents. There were no cops around and no other big pickups so i figured i would do something about it. I switched over to the left lane and put the pedal to the floor. I waited until he got back over into the right lane and i moved up and boxed him in. He was stuck between 3 vehicles going the speed limit. He wasn't very happy! I'm not sure what he was saying to me but i'm sure it wasn't very nice. We went down the road like this for about 2 miles before he turned off, i took the next exit and tried to find him. I never did find him which is good because if i saw him on a road with no traffic i probably would have done something stupid like run him into a tree.

Thumbs up New Silverado

Heh Heh

Stopped at a stop light next to a V8 silverado 2wd w/ dual exhaust (not sure if it was 5.3 or 4.8). He revved the engine. I just neglected to respond. Light turns green. I floor it and leave a nice 20 or so ft. patch of rubber at the light. He's gunning it to keep up with me, and actually starts to catch up with me. He passed me at about 65, but I slammed it back to the floor, RPM's went up to about 4200 and that high-end power kicked in with the nice resonance of the Flow's. Caught him back at 75 and kept him 2 truck lengths behind all the way to 105! I got through a light, but he had to stop. Haven't seen him around since. Must have bought a Ford to give me a fair race next time.

Cool

Good kill tonight. I pulled up at a stop light next to a bright yellow Dakota RT, and he gunned it, and I acted like I didn't hear him and continued in my conversation with one of my friends, but I watched the light out the corner of my eye, and when it turned green, I stomped it as far as I could, and he was winding out bad, I could hear him over the radio and my friend talking, and the entire time until I hit 100, I never backed off, and when I did back off, I had almost 5 truck lengths on him, and I didn't even acknowledge that he was there, I just kept talking like I didn't even know anyone was in the next lane, and when I slowed he drove by me and just stared. Guess he couldn't believe that he would lose to that much bigger of a truck.
Flea, I used to club at the Planet a lot, but I got out of that and started hanging out at Rafter's thursday, and on saturday I like Gilligan's in Bristol.

I wouldn't really consider these kills. I was out cruisin one night and the toy kept trying to pass me. Everytime I would see him getting closer I would floor it and leave him behind. The other time I was turning right and this suburban was coming up in the right lane. I floor it and pull out in front of him with plenty of space left to merge.

1997 f150, reg cab, flareside, 4.6, auto, superchip, true dual exhaust, k&n fipk, 4x4 orp.

Who cares about "kills". you have no way of knowing if the other guy is givin it all he's got, or what engine gears or mods he's got unless you know him or you pull over and talk. you guys just assume he's got the biggest engine and claim victory. I know for a fact a comperable 5.3 chevy will post better 0-60, 1\8, and 1\4 mile times than 5.4 ford, I see time slips all the time. same goes with the dakota r\t. for example, Neal has about every simple bolt-on you can get and is running @14.5, MAYBE low 14's with his new injectors. I saw a reg cab 5.3 run @14.6 with just pullies and hypertec programmer. same comparison with comperable 4.8 chevy vs. 4.6 ford. I am not calling any one a liar, but you can flame me anyway, I don't care. I'm not a chevy, dodge, or ford guy, (not toyota either) so you wont need to go there either. Take it to the track, race a comperable truck, if you win there no one can complain, of course if you have more mods and you win you still win, just not apples to apples.

"horsepower costs money, how fast do you want to go!"

let the whining begin!!!

By the way most of these supposed "kills" are no brainers, for example--- a 5.4 ford against a 4 banger civic........ c'mon!
