Antifreeze leak problem
Antifreeze leak problem
I got back to the house today and heard a hissing noise from my engine. I popped the hood and sure enough my antifreeze was spraying out of I don't know what. I have put two links to the pictures I have, and I have drawn arrows to the area where as far as I can tell it is leaking from. Can y'all tell what it is or has anyone else had this problem? Could my intake manifold be cracked? (I am a rookie) The truck has 211,000 miles on it, its a 2000 5.4, the intake manifold is the original still. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks, BB
I've seen that before think that fittings busted and that means you need a new intake..
Maybe some one whos had that problem will chime in but I've seen it before. Not repairable.. New intake. Rock auto sells them for $193

Yesir... that is the coolant crossover. Part of the intake manifold and was common to crack/leak on the underside of the connection from the composite to the aluminum crossover. Intake manifold will need replaced. Make sure and get the revised manifold (where the problem was fixed)
Post number 2000. beers for me
