Question Will my engine hold up?

My engine (4.6L) is bone stock and I am wondering if I am hurting it by driving it at higher speeds than most. I cruise at 80-90 MPH (autobahn) everyday to work for approxamatly 15 miles. Am I going to tear something up? I religiously perform all required maintanance and I know that my fuel milage sux, but will she hold up, or do I need to hold back a little?

Silvercrew,

Are you really in Germany? I thought you were joking, as I sometimes call the interstate I go to work on the "autobahn" because people drive so fast. Then low and behold I see your location is Germany....

Anyway, isn't that what overdrive was created for? Seriously, other than increased wear and tear why wouldn't she hold up? It's not like your at the drag strip and have to worry about a clutch blowing through the firewall.

I drive about 70 mph, 60 miles a day round trip on the interstate. However, rather than being filled with crazy Germans with fancy sports cars, my "autobahn" is filled with crazy kids in rice burners with nitrous tanks, huge exhaust pipes, and wheel rims that cost more than the car probably did.
But they know better than to mess with Ford country.

5 spd

The 5 spd with the 308 axle would be ideal there. Lower axle / auto = higher eng RPMs (at 90mph you can't help it). Besides the Krauts BUILT you engine btw (or they built mine anyhow)

It should hold up just fine. I drove my old trucl with the 4.6 at 80 all the time and had no problems.
