Yup, might want to look into a locking gas cap. I had some one taking gas from 3 of the 4 vehicles at my house, got locking caps and our fuel consumption went way down.

I live in Chandler, local mechanic shop has changed over 150 fuel filters in the past month, I would definantly start there. What gears do you have running the 35's ? I also have experianced a slight drop in mileage ( not like yours ) but I do believe the heat has an effect.

If they have increased the ethanol content of the fuel, your mileage will go down.

Yeah, but that in itself won't drop it to 9 mpg. Something is wrong.

head gasket(s)?? you mentioned it has been 100+ for a while you didnt over heat and warp or blow anything??? just throwing it out there seems like a significant drop rather suddenly...Have you noticed any drop in power?? sit on the remote start (if you have one) fob and let it idle a few times through out the day (happened to me haha) but a all those maintance ideas and a locking gas cap i think is a good start.

The very first thing I would do is an injector leak test. You can do this yourself.

Then go thru it.

Tune up, = everything including forward O2's. Replace ALL maintenance parts. Use OEM O2's only. Use the latest updated plugs. Find replacement injectors on Ebay if needed.

i would seriously consider the theft cause if you havent noticed a sudden drop in performance ....i dont think the injectors could leak that much that fast with out noticing in power loss. i mean i could be wrong it has happened before

[QUOTE=MTM Ford;4663268] That is terrible. At 253 miles I have just a hair under half a tank still.

I'd start with changing the fuel filter. It's cheap and easy to do so if it hasn't been changed in 88k miles it's long over due anyways and needs changed. From what I've heard about Sam Club gas (no personal expierence) there's a lot of sulfur in it which could plug you fuel filter. That's just "hear say" though, I can't provide any proof to back it up.

Spending money at sam's wall club mart = chump

I do let my a/c run and let my truck idle quite often but not anymore than i did last winter.. when its 106 degrees outside the truck never cools off so you have to let it idle if you run into the gas station for a min or youll sweat all the way home lol.

what gears did you swap to??

who did the tune for the K&N?? you've got a 3 valve motor and a Hot Air Intake, you better not have been running a canned tune and if you're running it on the stock tune now you better have the stock intake on it

you've got the front end lifted and large tires, now you're complaining about mileage sucking???? it's

I have the K&N air filter, not the whole intake... This tank I averaged 10.23mpg still horrible, but I really think the heat has something to do with it.. this last wekk it has only been 97-103 insted of 105+ everyday..idk lol
