Question 4.6 vs. 5.4 air intake

I am looking to purchase the volant air intake system ( the one with the boxed filter instead of the open one). They should one for the 5.4 and 4.2 but mention nothing about the 4.6. Will the one for the 5.4 fit my 2000 4.6? thanks inadvance.

Thumbs up

I am thinking about buying one too! I called them about 4.6/5.4 deal they said it fits just the same. If you look on the install picture for the 5.4 unit on their website its actually on a 4.6 Well if you get one before me tell me how it performs!

Volant Air Box

Just received and installed mine. Everything went well except Breather hoses. You will have to leave off cover for throttle body but no big deal. F150 World has a good install write up posted on an earlier thread. Won't make you truck feel like it is turbo charged but it does help, especially if you have a super chip. It works for me. My engine id a 4.6. I got mine from J.C. Whitney for $262. I say Go for it.

F150world has comparisons of that one and the K&N and AirRaid. The K&N gave the most power I think. The AirRaid and Volant average 2hp more (192 v.s. 190hp stock).
