Question ok..now I am confused....

I had the coolant leak in my 97 Ford F150...has 96000 miles on it...had this leak for about a month...now for the last three days...NOTHING!!...no leak, coolant hasnt gone down, truck not overheating...All I remember doing was squeezing both radiator hoses, and afterwards, there was a small leal, bit now for the last three days..nothing...
I bought a new water pump because my mechanic friend swears it was that....He still is going to get into the engine to see where the initial leak is/was coming from.....(sigh)...any ideas??

Question V6 or V8?

Could be the famous timing cover if its a V6.

...and if it IS a V6 - the leak could be internal -- resulting in severe bearing damage.

Check it out (a lube sample with 'crackle test' (tests for water) is indicated ASAP.

Put some stop leak in the radiator after flushing it a couple of weeks ago,And (knock on wood) no leaks since...I have a feeling it is the timing cover and intend to get it repaired since my vin# is not one of the recall trucks....
