Well me and my buddy finally cleaned the egr ports on my truck and they were completly clogged it was way over due for a cleanin. I cleaned the whole throttle body while i was at it and put a new gasket on. And all seems to be running smooth i cant really tell a whole lot of difference but atleast the light wont come on, oh and it doesnt seem to ping anymore. I cant belive i waited so long to do it the job was actually really easy. I should of takin some pics but there was a rain commin and i wanted to get it done. But thanks for all the advice on it guys. Oh and btw it does seem extremely common on 4.6s my buddys new truck and his old truck had the same code and both were clogged competly.
135k and now i have a slight tickin sound when the engines under load ??? im thinkin its a exhaust leak. but it doesnt do it when its in park. i know the tritons have a tick from the injectors but this seems to be alittle louder i dunno maybe im just paranoid. im probly gonna make sure all the plugs are tight tommorow but wouldnt if a plug was loose make the noise all the time like even in park.
i checked plug #1 already and i couldnt get it any tighter and i tightend all the plugs the same.....ive been told i have attendency to over tq things so i dont think its the plugs but ill try and check the rest tommorow. but like i said it sound perfect at idle and when i reve it up in park its just under load below 2,000 rpms it makes a tickin noise.
My cousin (whos a ford technition) said that the egr tube is probly so rusted and i kinda pushed it back alittle when i removed the nut, then i removed the valve to clean the ports so it created a small exaust leak in the tube so im gonna replace the tube and go from there.
