Post number on block

How can I tell what year a 351 Winsor block is? There is a number D4AE-6015-AA5 on the block. Any help?

Look in the driver's side door panel... if it is the original engine, it should be the same year as the truck

There should be a casting number somewhere on the block. I'm not sure what casting numbers match up to what years but i am sure the info is on the internet somewhere.

Thumbs up

That is the casting number on the block. Ford uses letters at the beginning of their part numbers to note which year, the number is the year of casting. Example D4 is 1974, C9 would be 1969, E5 would be 1985 and so on.
