For that past couple of days I have smelled something that smells like electrical burning. I think I have narrowed down the problem area to a section under the hood, but I don't have a clue what the part is. I have circled the part in question in the pictures below. The truck is a 1999 5.4 Lariat 4x4.

Please help me to identify what this is.

There's allot of wires in that circle. Pop the cover, look for arch marks against the firewall and melted wiring.
