How To Know Time Whish time cover on 4.6
Hi all,
I've a problem on, i need to know what timing cover is going on my block.
I have a 4.6 windsor 1997 a f-150 flareside.
My timing cover is broke at the top R side and i can't read the part number because the cover was previously welded with an epoxy compound.....
I know there two different covers : F65E-AB and F65E-AD
If i trust AlldataDIY, mine is a AB, but how can i be sure ???
If someone have an idea, it will be very appreciated
In advance thanks

I have an idea, =
Those aren't part numbers, -Plant and revision letter ID's.
Your part # = 6019
4.6L Windsor Engine Plant (WEP) Engine Components / Front cover part ID = #6019
Which may read = F65E-6019-AB and F65E-6019-AD. The actual "part's #" is 6019 for the Windsor.

Yea, the Romeo is the same, =
4.6L Romeo Engine Plant (REP) Engine Components / Front cover part ID = #6019

Thanks for you quick response, great forum
Yout totaly right and guided me on the right Way.
Letter at the end is the "Revision" of the part.
I've found a complete article describing how ford parts number is made.

In my case "AB" mean evolution of original design with inclusion of original design. So I can put it on my truck.
Once again thank man, you put me in the way
