Wierd Coil Problem

Back in january i had my intake manifold replaced due to a crack and was leaking coolant. So at this time i had them replace the plugs, thought why not couldnt hurt, i had specifically told them that i wanted to use motorcraft spark plugs, the guy gave me a nod and did the job. truck was running fine, then one day after a hard hard rain, the truck started acting up, so i did what anyone else would do, i came on here and sought out the problem, did the minor things, like oil change, replaced fuel filter, reset the pcm all that nonsense. so i kept driving and driving with it sputtering and acting up, still no CEL, i was confused.
so finally i just floored it and drove around like that until the stubborn CEL light finally showed up, took it to a shop, guy tells me number 8 cylinder is dead, so i says ok what do you have to do to fix it, he tells me replace coil and spark plug, ok so i did that. he pulls out an autolite spark plug that looks like it's been there for more than the 5 months ago that i had replaced it, all rusty and everything(water or moisture the cause?) so i got it fixed truck ran great! Then another hard hard rain came, and same thing happend number 8 cylinder dead again, what could be causing this, the actual coil, the ****ty autolite plug or is there somewhere where water could be seeping in and shorting out the coil? any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

Water leaking into the engine compartment past the hood gasket.

Pull ALL the cops and plugs and put MOTORCRAFT plugs in it. Fix your hood gasket, replace the cop, and use dielectric grease properly on the cops.

Im going to replace all the plugs and cops ASAP but, i do live in south florida and it just rained really hard here, so after the rain stopped i ran out and see if i could spot any water dripping or any water at all, i found nothing, absolutely dry. i squeezed my hand down in there and ran my fingers around the #8 and found no moisture. could it be the pcm getting moisture, i know that sounds wierd, but i do have a moonroof and it does leak from time to time. usually a puddle is on my husky floor mats.
