If one has a programmer before the gears are done then adjusting the speedo for the gears by using the options menu will make it easier......

And, even the canned tunes are much better over factory, for the 3 valve anyway.

So those are the mods air8, -might as well thro an intake in there. An intake isn't a power mod, but it helps.

The next step, after your bitten by the HP bug would be a Super Charger and/or head work.

Also look up gotts/ dwv mod

Troyer Performance
Power Hungry Performance
VMP Tuning
5-Star Tuning

Then look at UDPS, E-FANS, Long tube headers, gears.....
UDPS is not a good idea if he is going to put on a Supercharger.

It slows down the accessories and belt, which will inturn slow down the SC limiting boost.

Also be very careful picking exhausts. Unless you are going to run a very small amount of boost, the exhaust you need for the SC will likely not make you tons of power N/A.

Yea, I would never suggest UDP's as a HP mod. However E-fans are good for around 15 noticeable HP.

I'll agree.....but if one never has the ambition to put an sc on then its still an optional power adder.......

With regards to “Chips” and “Tuners”, years ago it was the best that most could do to enhance the ignition timing, fuel curve, transmission shift points, etc. It was (and still is) very important that a person verifies that the “Tuner” is ASE certified in both ECM and Transmission programming and IMHO be have current certification by the OEM whose vehicle you want to modify. There are plenty of persons who advertise their programs to be the best and even offer custom tunes, but in all reality, very few actually have credentials in these areas- but that’s not to say that some of these “geniuses” haven’t really caused damage to a few vehicles- just jump over to flatratetech.com and read just some of the comments from the MSE techs!. Perhaps what is equally important is the parameters that can be adjusted are set by the oem vehicle software…so there is really no “magic” in what they are doing anyway. Coombined with gears, it is the best bang for the $..IMHO!

Alright so I'm finally gonna start engine mods now all the interior stuff is mostly good. Needs new seats but that's for later. So first question is suggestions for high flow cats? I haven't even looked for cat. converters yet so I'm totally blind in those regards.

Thanx guys for the suggestions so far.
Chris.

Probably one of the cheapest most popular high flow cat would be a Magnaflow off ebay.

I run Bassani high flow cats that are a little smaller and a lot more expensive.

Or you can just cut off the rear cats. That what some of us did. If you have any questions about exhaust just post them in the exhaust thread. Alot of helpful guys there.

Yes, there are plenty of "tooners" out there.

But I would feel comfortable with any of these reputable tuners!

Troyer Performance
Power Hungry Performance
VMP Tuning
5-Star Tuning

Yes, that works great if your just looking for some more sound.
But,
if you want to get that 30HP and 35 torque, you need to run long tube headers, one high flow cat on each side, and a true dual 2.5 exhaust.

Yeah. You could get the exhaust setup from Johnny Lightning Performance. Its supposed to add 60hp... Its about $1500 though. Haha
