Hey guys! I'm a new member here! Just have to say that all of you guys are amazing, I've never learned so much about a truck in such little time. Let's get to the point...
I'm looking into buying a 2004 F150 XLT SuperCrew, but the only thing is that the truck has 190,xxx miles on it
I got the guy to reduce to price to $8000 flat. In your honest opinion, what should i do?
The truck is in immaculate condition! Like I wish I could show it to you guys! It's one of the best maintained cars I've ever seen! The leather is crisp, the engine looks nice and clean, and the exterior doesn't even have a scratch or a ding. The guy only did highway miles because of his business and he did his oil changes on time.
I've done extensive research about these trucks and the only thing that worries me is this "cam phaser" issue that everyone has.. And the truck does have a slight ticking noise coming from the passenger side of the engine
I own a '98 expy with 280,xxx miles and she is still running strong, so that is why I'm considering this, but I'm just wondering how these hold up and what you guys think i should do?
Thank you for any input

Do you know the guy personally? also im sur eyou have, but KBB the value of it and check what they are selling for on ebay and other places. A guy i know has a reg cab 2004 he bought new and has well over 200K miles on it and has been a work truck from day one pulling a skid loader and enclosed trailer nearly its whole life. and hasnt had any major issues...8000 is a lot of money to me and you can get almost new cars for that. If you are in need of a truck and that is what you want then go for it, but you have to keep in mind it may end up costing you a dime here and there stuff is getting some age on it.
