Oil in Throttle Body

Hello All,

This weekend I installed the Gotts Mod and in doing so I checked the throttle body and found that oil is getting into it from the vacuum line that goes down to the driver's side valve cover. It does not look like there is a PCV valve on that line. Should this be something to worry about?

I have a 2001 Screw with a 5.4.

Thanks,

Bob

the drivers side valve cover??? that is just a warm air return to the Throttle body....if that is full of oil....uumm i would not think that is not good...the pcv was LONG over due.

other with more experience might be able shed more light on this...mine is clean

PCV valve is shot, replace with motorcraft only. To much blow by getting through. Allowing it through the TB and into the crankcase intake side. The drivers side is what pulls air in to mix with blow by gases, any access is let out through the pcv valve to be burnt back through the intake. If too much is getting through the pcv valve (stuck open) it can be drawn back into the intake side.

Toyz,

Thanks, I will replace the pcv valve and clean the hose on the driver's side and see if it stays clean.
