Problem and don't know where to start?

THe other night on my way home when I got on the highway the truck started shaking like I had a flat. I pulled off the road and the shaking didn't stop. I didn't notice anything odd with my gauges or anything else, it just started having a miss.

I turned the truck off popped the hood and looked around checked the fluids, everything was ok.
I started the truck and it was running fine. The next day after leaving a restaraunt it did the same thing. I shut it off at the light and started back up and it ran fine.

If I had any ideas what this could be which is probably on here somewhere I would look there, but just not sure what or where to look.

Thanks in advance for any info.

That's the strange thing. No CEL and my gryphon's not showing and DTC's. It felt like a miss fire but after I turned the truck off and restarted it went away. I dorve the truck a good bit this weekend and nothing since saturday. You know, I bought the truck with 90,000mi on it and not sure if it has had the cops changed or even the plugs for that matter.

Ok, so this has been happening more frequently as recent as this morning. I was in traffic and couldn't pull over. The truck started shaking againg just like it was miss firing, the same as the last couple of times. Again no CEL and no DTC's on the gryphon. I am going to change the plugs tomorrow to see if that is the problem. Can I pick up a lisle tool at any auto parts store? I wouldn't want to do this until I have that little tool or is there anyone that lives in the north georgia area that has one that I can buy from them?

Thanks

With over 90k, it's more likely spark plugs if they have never been changed. If you WANT a set of cops (assuming a 5.4):

I haven't, but a lot of people here have and they generally work fine. There's always a chance of getting some bad ones, but for the price it's worth a try. They DO have a lifetime warranty.

Well, I just ordered a set of cops off ebay and a lisle tool from some one on here.
Anyone have preference on which type of plugs would be the best to go with?

CM---sounds like a COP is bad to me. I've have a very similar situation happen to me in another Ford vehicle that has a 4.6L V8. No CEL or anything.
