Help! Engine revs when in park

Hope you guys can help. This not my truck, but my wife's 93 Escort. It's got 118,000 mi on it and has been a good car. The last couple of days when she puts it in park the engine revs up until she shuts it off. Any thoughts?

Check for a loose vacuum line. May be it.

Post TPS

Try the throttle position sensor. I had this very same thing happen on my '92 F-150, 5.0. A new TPS fixed it.

Hope it helps
