I am new to this forum and I am searching for a p/up.I have narrowed my search down to an 08 f150 and a 06 .I am wondering is there any differences in the motors of the two both are 5.4`s . The trucks are similiar in shape and mileage but the 06 has better rubber and is $2000 cheaper .Any thoughts would be appreciated .

Go for the 2008. Any of the pre 2008's have the spark plug issue. Not sure if the 08's also had the cam phaser issue as well.

 

You want the one that has brown coils-the 08's have the improved head design the coils are brown if it does..
